Yaşar Üniversitesi Sanat Tasarım Fakültesi Müzik Bölümü 4’üncü sınıf öğrencisi Canberk Duman, Rusya’nın Soçi kentinde düzenlenen 11. Uluslararası Kış Sanat Festivali’ne (WIAFS) aktif olarak katılmaya hak kazandı. Sanat yönetmenliğini Rusya devlet ödüllü ünlü Viyola Sanatçısı Yuri Bashmet’in yaptığı festivalde başarılı öğrenci, hem ünlü sanatçılarla birebir çalışma fırsatı yakalayacak hem de kendi müziğini uluslararası arenada tanıtacak.
Tüm dünyadan yetenekli müzisyenleri desteklemek ve eğitmek amacıyla her yıl düzenlenen festivale kendi bestelediği bir yaylı çalgılar kuarteti ile başvurarak kabul aldığını anlatan İzmirli Canberk Duman, “2014 senesinde Yaşar Üniversitesi Müzik Bölümü’ne tam burslu olarak kabul edildim. Üniversite hayatım boyunca ikisi yurt dışında olmak üzere üç Erasmus+ projesinde yer aldım. Kompozisyon departmanımızın aktif çalışmaları sayesinde yurt dışı ve yurt içinden gelen pek çok besteci ve enstrümancı ile aktif çalışma fırsatı yakaladım. 4 yıl boyunca elde ettiğim deneyimler sayesinde böylesi uluslararası bir festivale katılmaya hak kazandım” dedi.
TIP OKUMASI BEKLENİRKEN MÜZİĞİ SEÇTİ
Okul hayatı boyunca tıp veya mühendislik fakültesinde okuması beklenen bir öğrenci iken ailesinin de büyük desteği sayesinde çok sevdiği müziğe yöneldiğini anlatan Canberk Duman, festival sürecinde neler yapacağını anlattı. Duman, “Yaşar Üniversitesi Müzik Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Yrd. Doç. Dr. Füsun Köksal İncirlioğlu’nun büyük teşvikiyle festivale başvurdum. Kabul mailini aldığım o ilk an çok büyük bir mutluluk yaşadım. Festivale seçim süreci ise uzun sürüyor ve katılımcılar yarışma yoluyla belirleniyor. Festival boyunca dünyaca ünlü isimlerle birebir çalışma fırsatı bulup, kendinizi ve müziğinizi tanıtma fırsatı yakalıyorsunuz. İnanıyorum ki benim açımdan müthiş bir deneyim olacak. Hedefim ise eğitimimin bir kısmını yurt dışında sürdürebilmek.” diye konuştu.
Canberk Duman, a senior at Yaşar University’s Department of Music, qualified for taking part in the 11th Winter International Arts Festival (WIAFS), which is going to be held in Sochi, Russia.
The achieved student Duman will get the chance to practice one-on-one with famous artists while also introducing his own music in the international arena during the festival whose artistic director is the Russian state-award-winning famous violist Yuri Bashmet.
Expressing that he was admitted to the annual WIAFS with the string quartet that he composed to apply for the festival, which is organized to support and train talented musicians from all corners of the world, Canberk Duman from İzmir added, “In 2014, I was admitted to Yaşar University’s Department of Music as a full-scholarship student. During my college years, I have taken part in three different Erasmus + projects including two projects abroad. Thanks to the relentless efforts of our composition department, I have had the chance to actively practice with many international and national composers and instrumentalists. All of these experiences that I have had during my 4-year college education gained me the opportunity to take part in such an important international festival.”
CONSERVATOIRE OVER MEDICAL SCHOOL
Duman chose music -thanks to his family’s great support- while everyone was actually expecting him to study medicine or engineering. To give information about what he is to do during the festival, Duman said, “I applied for the festival thanks to the great encouragement that Asst. Prof. Füsun Köksal İncirlioğlu, scholar at Yaşar University’s Department of Music, gave to me. At that very first moment when I received an e-mail stating my admission to the festival, I felt a tremendous sense of exultation. The selection process of the festival takes long, and participants are selected through competition. As part of the festival, participants are also given the chance to practice one-on-one with world famous figures while also introducing their own music to the world. I believe that it will be a great experience for me. As for what I aim for my future, I want to continue my education abroad for some time.”
