The article by scholars from the Department of Logistics Management of Yaşar University’s Faculty of Business Administration, Department Head Prof. Yiğit Kazançoğlu and Research Assistant Yeşim Deniz Özkan Özen has been awarded internationally.A UK-based publishing house that has been publishing academic journals and books for 54 years, Emerald Publishing has deemed the study conducted by scholars from Yaşar University worthy of the “Highly Commended Paper Prize”, which is one of the most significant prizes granted at 2020 Emerald Literati Awards where thousands of papers worldwide had been evaluated.

The international publishing house of academic journals and books in the fields of management, business administration, education, health and engineering has also been granting prizes for highly influential papers that it publishes under the Emerald Literati Awards over the 25-year period. The award organization that has turned 26 this year is aimed at recognizing and awarding not only the journals and books published but also the extraordinary contributions of the authors for knowledge and information.

In their paper focusing on lean thinking that also bears importance for production management, Prof. Yiğit Kazançoğlu and Research Assistant Yeşim Deniz Özkan Özen proposed that a multi-level model where lean management could be used to identify and prevent wastage at higher education institutions, and developed a roadmap for simplifying the institutions and enhancing their efficiency.
