Industrial project ranked second in Singapore

Bartu Arslan, graduate student at Yaşar University Industrial Engineering, was awarded at the 11th International Industrial Engineering and Operation Management (IEOM) Conference and Competition for his project advised by Assoc. Prof. Banu Yetkin

The project holds an international award in the category of “supply chain and logistics” and is currently developing an “AI-based automated storage and retrieval system capable of inter-storey motion” to facilitate storing operations, which have gained significant importance with the accelerating electronic commerce.

   Noting that the project has been generated originally from the research project “A smart design of automated storage and retrieval system” jointly conducted by Turkey and Slovenia and also been supported by the project’s coordinator TUBITAK, Assoc. Prof. Banu Yetkin Arslan also expressed that her student Bartu Arslan focuses on this subject in his master’s thesis and has been a scholarship student within the project.
