The Princess of Musical Notes

Nehir Özzengin, a 12-year-old who discovered her musical talent when four and a half years old, continues to build upon her musical successes. A piano student at the Music Academy of Yaşar University’s Continuing Education Center (YUCEC), Nehir has recently competed at the International Piano Competition ISCHIA in Naples, Italy, where she was ranked second. Not spending even one day without practicing piano, the talented pianist said, “It has been my greatest dream to tour the whole world as a musician to introduce my music and my country to the world.”

A seventh-year student at TAKEV Schools, Nehir Özzengin was admitted to the Music Academy of Yaşar University’s Continuing Education Center with full-scholarship, and started her training in classical piano here. Nehir has been awarded four international prizes over a short period of five years, including second place and third place awards at the International Mozart Academy Piano Contest, second place award at the César Franck International Piano Competition in Belgium, and finally second place award at the International Piano Competition ISCHIA held with the participation of eighty contestants from twenty-six countries.

AN ACOUSTIC PIANO WHAT SHE DREAMS OF

Noting that she practices at least two hours a day all year round, Nehir also expressed that she should have access to a piano to be able to practice even during holiday. “I strive for touring the whole world as a musician to be able to introduce my music and my country to the world. Moreover, I want to have an acoustic piano at home so I can practice comfortably at home as well,” said Nehir, also stating that she has yet to have an acoustic piano whilst striving for worldwide achievements.
