Yaşar University now a member of World Design Organization

Yaşar University Department of Industrial Design has become a member of World Design Organization (WDO), which has hundreds of members all around the world and dates back over 60 years. Among the organization’s members are only 13 members from Turkey, as well as the Delft University of Technology of the Netherlands, Montreal University from Canada, Sheffield Hallam University from England, and Western Sydney University from Australia.

To highlight the benefits from this membership to the WDO for the University and the İzmir city, Assoc. Prof. Mine Ovacık, Head of the Department of Industrial Design, said,

“We have achieved to be a member of the World Design Organization based on the internationalization principle that is set out in our university’s strategic plan. With this success of becoming a member of the Organization, it is our goal to develop strategic partnerships with international design communities, to access an international design network, and to participate in international events such as World Design Talks and World Design Day. We will be an active participant in ‘making lives better with designs’ via such international platforms during this process.”
