Space designed for children gains award

The activity center that Büşra Aydın, last year’s graduate from Yaşar University Department of Interior Architecture, designed for children won Aydın an award at TMMOB Chamber of Interior Architectures’ IA2018 Interior Architecture Students Project Competition.

Stating that she designed the activity center as an integral part of Ahmet Piriştina City Archive and Museum, Yaşar’s graduate Büşra Aydın informed us about the intention of the two-storey project.

“I wanted to design an activity center for the 4-12 year old that would attract their attention. I tried to create a comfortable atmosphere based on children’s opinions. There is no technological toy or equipment in the center, which helps children invent their own games just by themselves and run around as they wish while playing. The top floor has been, on the other side, designed as a space where they can read books and study. Here there is a library, cushions and a corner of story teller,” said Aydın, who has been inspired by the idea that today’s children need to enrich their imaginary world by means of having fun while also studying.
