DOOR DESIGN WINS AWARD

Ceren Dil, student from Yaşar University’s Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, won an award in the “modern” category of the “Door Designs” competition organized for undergraduate students from the departments of architecture, interior architecture and industrial design. The design by Dil was admired for its holistic structure which incorporated wall, space and door designs all together.

The design won Ceren Dil and her teammate Aykut Çor third place in the competition, which was held with the participation of nearly a thousand competing students from eighty-two universities all around Turkey under the sponsorship of Artella Wooden Door Systems.

“We wanted to create a convertible design instead of a traditional door-wall design. We intended to offer new solutions for confined spaces while also trying to grasp the importance of the manufacturing sector in our designing stage. We wanted our design to be an integral part of the space and wall, instead of a detached version of a door which we usually see,” expressed Ceren Dil.
